Lent Alexander Ross III

A long time resident of Clarksdale, Alex and his wife, Nancy, moved to Brandon ten years ago. Alex was born July 10, 1935, in Clarksdale to Lent Alexander Ross, II and Margaret Ruth Armstrong. After retiring from farming, he worked as an Industrial Co-ordinator for Coahoma Community College and Pearl Community College. He was also a former County Supervisor. Mr. Ross was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, and he served in the U. S. Navy.
Mr. Ross is survived his wife of fifty-three years, Nancy Hunt Ross, a daughter, Lacey Ross Brigman and husband, Jim, of Lewisville, N.C.; two sons, Lent Ross and wife, Gail, of Olive Branch, Miss. and David Ross of Brandon, Miss.; a sister, Lelia Payne and husband, Bruce, of Olive Branch, Miss. and brother, Billy Ross and wife, Georgia, of Fayetteville, Ark. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Ross.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Clarksdale.
Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Curt Presley, III officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
National Funeral Home of Clarksdale is handling arrangements.
Memorials for Alex Ross, III may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
